Where do I get an API key?
For OpenAI visit platform.openai.com/api-keys, for Anthropic visit console.anthropic.com, and for Groq visit console.groq.com. You can create a free account on all three platforms.
Where is my data stored?
All your recordings, transcripts, and summaries are stored only on your iPhone. LynxNote has no servers.
Can I use it without an internet connection?
Yes. When there is no internet, Apple's built-in speech recognition engine is used. AI summarisation and research features require an internet connection.
How accurate is the transcription?
With the Whisper API, 95%+ accuracy is achieved for Turkish and English. Results are better in quiet environments and with clear speech.
How much does it cost?
The app is free. API costs vary depending on the provider and model you choose (e.g. Claude Haiku, Sonnet, GPT-4o-mini, Groq) and the length of your recordings. Check the pricing pages of OpenAI, Anthropic, or Groq for current rates.
Does recording continue in the background?
Yes. Recording continues even if you switch to another app or lock your phone.
How do I delete old recordings?
Swipe left on a note in the main list and tap Delete. To clear all data, go to Settings → Storage → Clear All.
Which iPhone models are supported?
All iPhone models running iOS 17 or later are supported. iPhone XS or later is recommended.
